Great pay, toxic company

Pros

The pay is great, heavily stacked for first 2 years

Cons

The switch over to RSUs after 2 years that you only get paid on specific 6 month vesting dates with ZERO prorated is bad. They can let you go the day before your vesting date and you get NOTHING.

L7 Salary

Business Outlook

Pros

Stock grants are typically awarded twice annually and are considered a valuable benefit. Amazon also provides comprehensive healthcare coverage, various benefit offerings, and a 401(k) matching program.

Cons

At the L7 level, achieving a proper work/life balance can be challenging given the compensation structure. There is an unspoken and unwritten expectation of being available on call around the clock 24/7. Additionally, the talent review process does not appear to be strictly merit-based, as raises are influenced by factors such as unconscious bias, personal relationships, and general popularity, rather than solely performance.
