Pros

Great pay, amazing talent, and a sense of belonging. Your cohort wants to be there and there is a common vision to work towards making Amazon one of the most important businesses in the world.

Cons

Hours are long and deadlines are aggressive. Poor work/life balance but that seems to be the case with most high paying entry level college jobs.

Pros

- Amazing drive to innovate - Fast paced and always interesting - Seemingly unlimited resources for process improvement projects - Some of the best, most qualified people I've ever worked with. - Compensation is exceptional.

Cons

- Very long hours in a no-office environment mean 10-12 hours per day all on your feet. No sitting. - Expectation is everyone is constantly trying new things, throwing as much as possible against the wall to see if any of it sticks. This leads to a lot of wasted effort and duplication of effort to achieve limited gains. - Company is set up to eliminate 10% of it's workforce each year, regardless of performance, on the chance it can bring in personnel better than the ones they have. Turnover is costly and chaotic. It also breeds uncertainty in the hourly personnel due to the constant rotation of leadership. - Compensation is structured to keep people around 3-4 years. Many still chose to walk away due to the extreme nature of the company and work environment.
