Pros

At Amazon SDE’s are involved in developing and owning product/service features.A typical day of a SDE will include writing code,troubleshooting/debugging issues, doing code reviews etc

Cons

The company wants to fire you more than retain you. This culture has been institutionalized especially in this office. Look at the average tenure of experienced people joining amazon. It is barely one year. This is not by chance, but by design, and it has been designed by same immature managers in order to save their own jobs.
