Pros

Learn a lot about effective business practices. After leaving Amazon, almost everything is frustrating because they have a lot of great mechanisms and a strong alignment to how work is done. Leaders are really sharp and if they trust you, you can get a lot done. Many opportunities to move horizontally if your location allows.

Cons

You have to fight very hard to do anything, there is a lot of hoops to jump through and a lot of admin that distracts from just doing good work. You have to justify your existence at every WBR, MBR, and QBR, plus during annual planning which has two rounds every year. Career and growth opportunities are location dependent, which is a shame when high performers are located anywhere other than Seattle or DC.

Pros

The compensation can be deceiving

Cons

Don't sell your soul to work for this chaotic and dysfunctional company. Employees are treated like workhorses and means to an end. The culture here is the worst I have worked in during my 20+ year career.
