Pros

Lots of experts, nice campus, good internal tech, access to AWS teams.

Cons

- Once you RSU's start to vest after many years of hard work you become a target. You probably will never be allowed to vest. - Foreign managers spend all their time trying to get visas for their friends back home instead of doing their job working for your team. - Secret feedback and stack ranking. - Raises max out at 2.5% which is COLA and require an exceeds performance review. Normal is 0-1%. - Corrupt hiring and review process. Sort of like Hunger Games/Tinder. Don't be old, fat, or ugly. - Jeff Bezos Quote: "Customers expect Amazon to have a young urban workforce" Blatant ageism.

Pros

* Good compensation * Interesting projects * Competent people * Really about the customer. In terms of compensation, I never felt under-compensated. Projects were generally interesting, and the people I worked with were generally very competent. You get the impression people really care about the customer. It's refreshing, and somewhat mitigates the amount the company pushes you.

Cons

* Always demand a lot * Bad - terrible work/life balance * Few additional benefits Amazon will always demand a lot from you, not just your managers, but your peers as well. Faltering is something that will tend to be noticed.
