Pros

1. You get ample joining bonus in shares. 2. You get to see bureaucrats and then you know how to avoid them in next job search. 3. No dress code

Cons

1. Specially the retail software division are highly engaged in politics. If you want to join then only join aws, kindle, fire tv. 2. The management in retail is highly political. The high bar set upon them makes them compete between orgs and you may be dragged into it. 3. low salary 4. The management in retail has a target to put certain % of people on pip. They always choose SDE-2's for this. You would be surprised at the feedbacks in pips. Your manager will say it's not in their control, its company policy of rank and yank, etc etc. 5. Lots of micromanagement. In fact the manager keeps on documenting your daily activities. They do not know who will be put on PIP the next year, so they are always ready with the proofs.
