      More scope to learn

      Pros

      There is a good scope to learn, work can be sometimes challenging and engaging. The work can sometimes push you to get better at plenty of things related to technology, which you otherwise may not proactively work on.

      Cons

      Not so great work life balance. Work in the platform teams usually have a lot of scrutiny (it may be necessary as well) and not so fast moving (IMO) and sometimes you have to act/work beyond your pay grade to get things done. May not be great for the people who got used to work in a fast moving environment. But there are plenty of non platform teams as well, which may have a better work life balance and a fast moving work, need to explore it yourself.

      Pros

      * Ways of approaching problem solving - using documentation, reviews, pr faq * Very nice co-workers * Projects can be interesting * Flexibility to work outside of the office (either from home or for a few days in another country) * Operation processes

      Cons

      * Internal tools are causing lots of pains and reduce productivity. * Timelines for delivery are way too ambitious resulting either failing, losing on quality and generating stress for developers * Prioritisation often goes to feature delivery as opposed to quality * Frugality is sometimes ridiculous * Very slow career/salary progression (usually lower than inflation)
