Pros

pay? possibly, if you either got stock early enough or if you are in a cash bonus window

Cons

trash "leadership" - really just upper management. zero vision horribly backwards talent ranking system which is really still a good 'ol boy system You will always grind, but never in a good way. It's just fighting the horribly inept tooling, procedures and bureaucracy. it's all about following trends and latching on to the latest buzzwords (see genai buzz) most upper management now isn't engineering, but product managers and salespeople who have no clue about tech debt or what it really means to take tradeoffs through a product lifecycle there is a ton of waste on stupid projects begging for a customer

Pros

Love working at Amazon for the diversity of products we deliver that improve customers lives

Cons

Senior management can be clueless and yet try to drive down decisions they have no way to back up leading to 1 way door decisions.

Good compensation is provided by Amazon in this area

Cons

The back to the office is tiresome considering all are spread across different timezones
