Pros

As a manager at Amazon you will have tons of responsibility and leeway to execute on your goals while empowering incredibly smart engineers to do amazing things.

Cons

You will be asked to do a lot without clear guardrails. This autonomy can be dangerous if you aren't prepared. Also at a company with Amazon scale you can't do much as a single team, and relationships are crucial to delvering the kinds of large-scale initiatives you will need to be successful.
