Pros

If you’re fresh out of college, then this is fantastic opportunity to start your career. There’s not much merit to the position outside of that.

Cons

If you have a disengaged (WHS) manager, you’re going to have a bad time…actually, a horrible time. If you have an incompetent Sr. Ops manager, you might as well fire up Indeed and use the Amazon entry on your resume ASAP. There is absolutely ZERO accountability for Sr. Ops managers. Sr. Ops is essentially praised for prioritizing safety over production. It’s STUPID easy for Sr. Ops to straight up lie and and be rewarded. Poor work/life balance. Investigation process and reactive safety culture is a joke; it’s saddening if you have worked within a positive culture before. If you’re not a robot being hired into the job, Amazon will surely attempt to make you one. Otherwise, the amount of eye-rolling in response to incompetence, childish behavior, every single negative frat/sorority culture stereotype in the book is UNREAL.

Pros

Day 1 pay, benefits are good, growth opportunity

Cons

Individuals are promoted on tenure and not performance, individuals in high level positions are incredibly unqualified. Do not get to hire your own team.
