Pros

* Great benefits * Insanely intelligent people around you * Anything you can think of, Amazon is probably doing it * Fast paced work environment * New offices are extremely nice

Cons

* Non-health benefits are pretty "frugal" * Archaic internal tools for developers * Takes a while for the company to change negatively impacting things (like job description rewrites, more widely supported industry standards, etc) * Work life balance has become the exception not the rule * To "survive" at Amazon, you either need to be perfect, or you need to fly under the radar * Old timers say the best way to "succeed long term" at Amazon is to not trust your manager and fly under the radar until it suits you and you know it won't come back on you
