Pros

* Work among talented, intelligent people * Work on exciting projects at the forefront of cloud development * Everyone is inspired and hard-working * Clear sense of company culture

Cons

* You are expected to be an owner, so you can get invested. This sometimes translates to long hours * Vacation policy is one of the worst * General benefits package is one of the worst (401k, maternity/paternity leave, etc.)

Pros

The work is varied, and there are so many different teams to work on at Amazon. There are however expectations of working late hours, and owning the product you're working on.

Cons

Late hours, no real work-life balance. Depending on who your boss is, it can take a drastic turn for an unenjoyable work experience. I switched bosses almost a year into working here and both of them are not very competent in managing others.
