      home office based position, decent starting salary, good benefits

      fast paced changes, my team in disarray because of it - not the best situation when you just started and rumors of being moved to another team swirl around before you even managed to settle in

      Pros

      You determine your own growth. As scary as this sounds, it provides amazing growth opportunity. Compensation is great, especially if you're coming out of uni (especially for South Africans, many other companies don't come close). AWS provides you with ample resources to perform well, and a dedicated mentor as you become tenured.

      Cons

      Having a bad manager can ruin your ambition. It's also very metric based, which is required and can make work feel robotic at times. Because certain metrics are required from you, this makes taking additional responsibility almost impossible unless you're breezing through case work, which is likely not the reality.
