Pros

Nice fellows and managers. Chill atomosphere. Peace relationships.

Cons

Painful to maintain legacy services with ancient codes and coding languages. Lack of documents and knowledge transfer. Heavy oncall.

Pros

Good pay, especially for those entering big tech for the first time

Cons

Your experience and WLB will be very team dependent, but quite a few horror stories. Leadership doesn’t seem to know how to grow the company, just the laziest way to cut costs (layoffs)

Pros

High pay but very team dependent

Cons

If you have a bad team, oncall could be very annoying and managers might also be super nitpicky. Pretty political place and reorgs are common
