      Good if looking for stability, Ok compensation package, good and friendly working environment. Quite open organization with possibility to access higher level in case of need

      Unclear promotion path, usually related to contacts, not merit. This can be very frustrating and dismotivating. Salaries can be below average, but total compensation helps. Some might find this not good.

      Friendly work-environment with good leaders. Good work-life balance and decently interesting work.

      Compensation a bit on the lower side. These days the work-environment has deteriorated a little due to attrition.

      Pros

      American Express has excellent benefits and in most areas a good work life balance. Pay is also comparable to others in the industry. Since the company is constantly changing, innovating etc. it is never boring. Always something new to learn if your given the opportunity.

      Cons

      Sometimes it is way too political, more about who you know, then what you know. American Express needs to develop a fairer review process and ensure that areas provide fair opportunity to all to succeed.
