      American Express may have good work/life balance except for in Business Travel but the compensation is quite horrible.

      Pros

      If you're in any other department besides Business Travel, you're good. The company values having a work/life balance however this is not the case for Business Travel Finance.

      Cons

      Business Travel is the absolute worst department. There are no benefits to work in this department. You just get work very hard with little compensation.

      flexible work schedule, vacation time, work life/balance

      To political and much beaucracy - Although efforts are somewhat rewarded and recognized, it has always come down to who you know and how much you brown nose that will get you ahead. They keep adjusting pay bands which has kept and will keep many positions from ever reaching the "At Salary" range, which is one of the reasons why people are and have been so disgruntled about their pay for many years.
