Poor management

Pros

Work flexibility, snacks and some nice people

Cons

Poor leadership, instead of fixing core issues they are going after each issue one by one. Does not lead by example, does not lead meetings when they manage the team. Ask others to lead and just follows what others say.

Thanks for your review. Your comments about our nice people, plentiful office snacks, and flexible work policy are spot on! These are some of our favorite day-to-day perks as well. We've shared your thoughts regarding team leadership with the People@AppD management team. It is only through feedback such as yours that we are able to maintain and, when necessary, improve upon the overall AppDynamo experience.

Pros

> There are a few companies I believe won't go down in a unicorn bubble burst. This is one of them. > The culture is good. My team is nice, and people are overall nice. > Engineering management listens to and welcomes ideas for features/changes. Good work life balance (if you are looking for that) > The company has solid growth potential

Cons

> A HUGE con is that RSUs being doled out only vest 6 months after the IPO. The recruiters never told me this when we were chatting about compensation - learnt it in a session on equity conducted by the company. Of course, it was on my offer letter, but I should have taken legal jargon more seriously than relying on recruiters' words. As a result, if I leave before 6 months after the IPO, I get nothing in stocks for the time I have worked here. This makes me so depressed. > I fear that when I compare to companies like Google, Facebook, Uber, Airbnb etc. we may not have the same level of talent. > The pay, again, does not compare to the likes of the big companies.

First, thank you for taking the time to give future AppDynamos insight into the ins and outs of the company! While you made several points we wanted to specifically address your concerns over communicating AppD's RSU plans as you brought up some great points. As you pointed out, this info is outlined within every offer letter we send. But as you also pointed out this should have been made clearer during the discussions with your recruiter. We could not agree more! We're all about transparency so we want to make sure that there is 100% clarity and confidence about what your signing when you sign your AppDynamics offer. Knowing that we're working to re-educate the talent team on how to discuss our RSU plans with potential employees. We're also constantly working with our Senior Director, Employee Shareholder Services to see how we can make this education process more in depth moving forward. Something we aim to educate all of our candidates on is not only that are our RSU plans are industry standard, but they are above and beyond what you'll see at most companies in the Bay Area and around the world.
