Pros
I have enjoyed a long and prosperous career with unlimited opportunities to learn and grow at the site in Irvine, CA. The majority of people working there are like a second family to me (up, down and across the organization.) There are many challenges that provide the opportunity to use the best of your ability, knowledge, and skill to resolve. We are changing how we think and what we do to become stronger and more agile to build our exciting future. If you are adaptable, can effectively work with and influence others toward a common goal, and enjoy a healthy challenge, this is a great place to be. It is not a place for those feeling entitled and comfortable with status quo. We are changing and need people that are invigorated by change and personal/professional challenge and growth. Our Sr. Leadership team has new additions and is evolving in strategy deployment and organizational accountability. Along with these broad organizational changes come programs to encourage retention of the proactive game changers, development plans for our people to prepare for our future, and recognition/reward for achieving desired results.
Cons
Some unpopular views shared on this site are most likely from those holding onto past experiences and waiting for/expecting others to fix it. It is true that we have people stuck in the past, clinging to ineffective methods and thinking, believing that they are victims and powerless, however they are not the majority. Some don't believe they need to change to be a part of our future. Hanging onto this thinking is self-defeating. If people want a different personal and professional outcome, they must demonstrate the courage to become engaged with creating/and or being part of the solution instead of perpetuating the problem. While these people are not the majority, some are in visible, critical positions which creates a less than desirable perception for some and fuels their "story." This is part of the human condition, and is not reflective of our B. Braun mission, vision, and values. We are sometimes too slow to recognize that some just don't fit here anymore. In my opinion it's not because we can't or don't see the problem, it is trying to give every last opportunity to individuals to make the change or chose to leave. Every person may still offer value. We may not fully quantify at what organizational cost.
