Pros

Most people you work with will be friendly, and they will train you, so it's a good entry level position. Most of the manufacturing tied jobs are on a 3/4 day, 12 hour schedule, which I liked because I could take 3-4 day trips without taking any vacation time.

Cons

There's not a ton of growth at the Irvine location, so there is not a ton of room for advancement. They also don't seem to like to elevate your position (i.e. from a Tech I to II), even when your training/experience justifies it. This is probably just to prevent you from getting a raise, but people just end up going elsewhere once they get trained and acquire a little experience. The pay could also be better, and the shift premium for working nights is not very good, which causes those shifts to be understaffed and stressful. This causes a lot of turnover.

Pros

There are bonuses and the health insurance is very good.

Cons

There is no work-life balance. This place is run without actual knowledge of inventory or customer need. Workers were forced to give up holidays and weekends only to have to destroy 48% of the product afterwards because the products expired. There is no planning or realistic timelines. There is no care for life outside of work. You never know when you are going to be able to leave for the day and you have to give up a lot of weekends. (Working weekends and holidays was never mentioned during the interview process.) Morale is very low because management has no regard for giving employees time off to spend with their families. If you want to take a quick break in between working, you better not be seen in the cafeteria taking a drink or you'll be told about it. I've never worked for a company that was so out of touch with real life.

Pros

Stability in the work place

Cons

Slow to respond to ideas. If you speak up you will be retaliated against. Nepotism at the senior level. Employees at all levels are overworked. Employees are not held accountable. Management does not empower their employees (they feel intimidated that you may take their position). Many employees are grandfathered into their positions, therefore skills needed to make company successful are lacking
