Pros

I highly recommend BAT because it is an ambitious company that invest in its people. The benefits are great and employees receive a lot of training. You very quickly get assigned your own projects and get responsibility from day 1. The learning curve is very steep because of the complex industry that BAT operates in. The culture is very young, dynamic and international. There are a lot of opportunities to build your career within this large international company.

Cons

The only downside I can think of is that if you find changes uncomfortable - this job is not for you. BAT values job rotations to develop their employees and there are frequently a lot of organizational changes - also due to the constantly changing market.

Cons

Very challenging and aggressive culture. Depending on who is your boss, your behavier and networking can be valued than your performance.

Pros

Well structured programme and recruitment process. BAT is a highly professional and transparent company with a formalised approach to career development and strong focus on learning and development for all employees. You feel valued an entry level employee and the Global graduate programme is strongly supported by the local leadership team. Event though high individual performance is expected the culture is still youthful and informal.

Cons

No serious cons. The programme/rotations moves very fast and the amount of work completed in each stage is limited. This provides only a somewhat superficial overview of the functions. The complexity of the industry means that it takes longer to learn the dynamics which can be frustrating.
