Pros

Great teams, a lot of challenges and great opportunities, good annual bonus, great benefits especially from 2nd grade of managers (G35+).

Cons

Low salaries for all non management grades(F1 to FB3) + first management grade (G34), working conditions not that good, not so much transparency at management and top team level (as there are many changes happening and no communications are done up-front), a lot of stress on delivery and not so much into people management (even if they are painting in a way that "they are working for you" - but in reality is all about delivering), poor management in terms of managing other managers as everyone is focusing at micromanagement instead of macromanagement (taskmasters instead of real leaders).

Pros

In general smart people and decent atmosphere. Pay is also good with higher variable vs other industries (up to 40% in my case)

Cons

Bureaucracy and politics at its best. Zero empowerment. Nothing gets approved without going to the boss's, boss's boss. In order to progress in career you need to show impact which typically means show off a lot, make sure you make friends everywhere and you pick a good mentor (yes, a mentor is mandatory). Overall tobacco industry (new generations products like vaping or THP included) are super mega hyper regulated which means there's zero freedom to operate. Last but not least and back to the first point, because of such bureaucracy, protocols and processes, everything is beyond slow. Takes ages to decide on something.

Pros

Flexible schedule, unlimited sick days, company car, cell phone and internet allowance.

Cons

The company will run you into the ground like you are a robot if you allow them. Constant tactical tasks make the job one that is not worthwhile. Initially the company was all about the people. Make the employees feel good and we will go above and beyond to provide sales because we love our jobs. They started focusing on money and company goals instead of the people, forcing in skus of cigarettes then pulling them the next year or instructing us to place them behind flip signs. Deceptively selling in New contracts making the owner seem like they are making money but then having them put all the money back into the category. Price increases were not a thing and now they happen 4 to 5 times a year to offset the losses of the reality that people are just not smoking. The new products we launch all seem like great ideas, vapes...horrible and they leak and the taste is subpar ( the only way we have "#1" title is because the government pulled all the flavors from JUUL but we are being slaughtered by the flavored disposables. Velo...a joke. So much of a joke that we went back to relaunching Snus. The list goes on with the ridiculous thoughts that go on with product launches, packaging changes and Constant resets that don't make sense. Putting Newport platinum in first position. Who and why would you think that's a good idea. Management oh I can write a book there. They will only favor the people who will brown nose. If you not ready to kiss some serious tail, then you won't make it in their inner circle. They do not care about the people, only hitting numbers by any means necessary. It has slowly became a company that I once enjoyed, loved working for and always defended. These days, It seems like they just make stuff up and pray for the best and have us doing busy work instead of actually being Sales people. Selling in products and analyzing business utilizing their sales was a great way to leverage the stores and gain long term commitments and partnerships. Now we dump product and reset the fixture each visit, the owners went from loving to see me come in to see how their store sales have increased to trying to immediately asking what am I going to change today and why did I force in all these products. In summary. The company only cares about their investors and share holders and will do whatever to get their numbers while running their people in the dirt.
