BDO Eaton Square - AVOID

Pros

Pay is fair. Great non management people to work along side. If you have previous extensive experience in consultancy and can hit the ground running then you might stand a chance. But be VERY careful. I left my previous job to come to BDO Eaton square because I thought the grass was greener.... it's not.

Cons

No direction, no structure. Overworked, you'll have about 5 projects on the go at any one time. Minimal training provided - you must find the training and train yourself. Management only seem to care about money and not about their staff. Just ask them how many people have left recently...

Pros

Great office space and place to get your CPA hours. Medium size clients are ideal for seeing all aspects of client businesses.

Cons

Poor work life balance and unrealistic timelines to complete work. You will be told an audit will take you 3 weeks and you will look at the past years WIP and it will be at least 50% longer. Partners are out of touch with the amount of work that is being requested of you as the requirements of the audit have changed but the timelines have not.

Pros

I love how the staff level are lovely and bonded there . People were helpful and United.

Cons

- We get blamed in things that we do by the superiors. Especially on our emails, we have to write it according the way of their style and structure (even though you and most people could understand your emails and the content are the same , but they still want you to write and change according their way.) not flexible in writing emails and create so much the fuss for 1 email. I have been using the same standard English in writing email. - Having alot of workload and need to tank the jobs when people are going on long leaves. Yet still not appreciated. - What is worst is. When we sent out supporting documents to the superior, we have to sit beside them and open for them for their review. Is like what is the point of sending to you the supporting documents if I myself have to be beside you and spoon feed you and show you all the documents ?it will be really wasting of the time and not effective. - Works has been sent long ago for superior review, yet it took weeks to comeback to us. On the very last minutes when we are suppose to submit it. (Yes we understand that it might be alot of work for superior, but that doesn’t mean it could be done in the very last minutes and later put the blame on the staff ) - Everyday going to work just thinking on how to avoid getting blamed and also the email sending. (It will be mentally tiring. I wonder how people can actually learn.) - NO WFH or hybrid when there are cluster of COVID 19 being spread one after another in the team. Big boss don’t really care of the staff well being, it’s just all about money $$$ and revenue
