Pros

Work from Home is good

Cons

No Bonuses or lack of lack of promotions (depends on department) slowly becoming an indian firm (BDO Rise) Lack of talent (short staffed) Long hours very political (they wont give firm wide market adjustments, they will pick and choose) a senior can be making 110K next to you, and you're getting 85K Pushy partners asking for working to be done in an unrealistic time and following up often, they simply need to review. working multiple clients busy season after busy season, never ending high stress stay away, its not worth it

Pros

I like how they have a continuing education requirement. There are some good people who work here.

Cons

The work environment: First of all, most of the cubicles are so small that you can't even spread out your papers to work. The open office floor plan was so noisy. It was so hard to concentrate on your work with people talking on the phone or to each other all around you. Work-life balance: You should not expect a work-life balance. Expect to work every weekend during the busy season. Management did not bring in seasonal staff to help with the increased workload during the tax season. Instead, management takes advantage of the fact that you're salaried and they don't have to pay you overtime. Quantity vs. Quality: Make no mistake about it - the quality of work is not a priority. It's all about production. You will not be able to keep up with the workload if you prioritize quality. If you can't work as many accounts as they've assigned to you, you will eventually be fired. Ethics: Managers at my office were the most unethical people I've ever worked with. Management required staff to produce fraudulent tax documents. Management signed these fraudulent tax documents and underreported asset values if they thought they could get away with it in states that don't audit. Management also made staff manipulate time entries so that they don't have to write off time. For example, if they sign-up a client with a lot of accounts on a flat fee basis - you will be expected to charge time up to the flat fee. You will be told to code any time it takes to work the accounts beyond that as admin, training, etc so that the manager doesn't get in trouble for spending more time on account than they can bill for.

Pros

They spend a lot of money on company parties and events.

Cons

You are just a number here. Turnover is crazy high. Not a good environment for experienced employees to come in to learn their methodology.
