Pros

Free coffee from the coffee machine

Cons

Very clueless managers, unqualified. People are very old school No proper process to train people. Just hired and left to figure things out. Very haphazard ways of working Constantly have to work in the grey Does not deliver as promised. Job description does not match the actual job. Random designations that make no sense. Live for the day mentality. No longer term plan. Racist approach, even though they pretend there is diversity and inclusion. Beware!

Pros

BRP is very innovative and produces great products and is always looking for ways to move the needle. Very good compensation and insurance.

Cons

Life at BRP really depends on what department you're working in and who your supervisor is. In the 1st half of my career at BRP I loved it. You felt valued and respected. Although I worked on my own it was a team effort, sharing ideas and helping your team. Once I was promoted things changed if you are a strong employee with a lot of knowledge, you can be seen by your supervisor as a threat. That supervisor was more interested in making his high school buddy look great. Then in the last department, we had 2 supervisors that had very little knowledge of the product line and the customer base. My area was the top in that department. I had the respect of all the field personnel and was the person they called when they needed advice or how to do something. I was treated very badly by my supervisor and his boss being belittled in meetings in front of the team. Employees from other departments would sit in our meetings asking why my area was doing so well. They would not let me speak and took credit for what I did. It took me a while to write this review. No employee should have to go through what I did from these 2 individuals.

Pros

-Fun environment -Cool products -Employee rebates -Bonus -Good insurance package -Hands on approach

Cons

-A lot of unpaid overtime -Excessive workload -Insignificant salary increase post-covid -Salary not competitive -Abysmal location -Too many projects at once -Job-specific tasks are unclear and job evaluation criteria seems meaningless -Inconsistent workload and task distribution across employees (favoritism) -No formal training process -Invisible HR -Outdated and inadequate design process (need to integrate FEA analysis more in the design process and rely less on physical testing) -Way too much planning and management done manually, need to redefine business processes (desperately need to deploy PLM, better ERP and project management tools) -Vehicle development engineering spends too much time supporting operations and other business units instead of doing actual R&D
