Pros

Working at Barracuda gives you a wide range of opportunities to explore. At least on my time, you have a lot of freedom on what you want to work on. You're not micro-managed for the most part, and the culture is pretty laidback. Flex hours are a definite benefit, and nobody is making sure you're there every second you're supposed to be. That's not to say they won't notice if you're slacking, not showing up, or only putting in half your time. However, you often have the opportunity to specialize in whatever interests you, or branch out if you want to. Teams are fairly small and you end up knowing most of the people you work with, and you will definitely make friends you'll hang out with outside of work. Most products are fairly complex and use a wide range of technologies, so you're always learning. That's not to say they're all used *well* and sometimes products can feel stuck in the past, but you'll never feel like you aren't learning something new. You'll work with a lot of smart people with a lot of positive energy. There's a ping pong table, shuffleboard table, cheap vending machine snacks and drinks, bagel Wednesdays, Pancake mornings, etc. A fair amount of social events as well.

Cons

Compensation is... okay. It's definitely below market average, but is quite sufficient for the area. Benefits are decent, but aren't top-notch. Sometimes it can be frustrating to deal with a lot of "legacy" code, politics, etc. Politics play a huge role in the office, even if it's not immediately noticeable. You'll pick up on it over time. There's a big sense of "move fast, and break things" and unfortunately sometimes the emphasis is on "break things." Personal life / work separation is decent usually. You may have to fight for it, and putting in extra time will be noticed, but if you need your personal time, you can make it work. Like any job in the industry however, some things can't wait. Barracuda puts a huge emphasis on making things work for their customers, so when things break it's expected that they are fixed fast. Office culture can sometimes be distracting (loud, off-topic, "bro", etc.) but with a good set of headphones or earbuds, and a bit of self-motivation it can be overcome.
