Pros

My coworkers were wonderful. I was genuinely impressed with my team and learned from them. Those providing support to me and my customers were also top notch.

Cons

Quite frankly, I've never had such a poor experience at a company. I could never recommend them as an employer.  In fairness, my management team at Barracuda MSP was ridiculously overworked. During work hours they were scheduled for 90% of the day. Unfortunately, this meant that getting support when you're ramping up was very challenging. The management team delegated it to a buddy system, but never checked to see how things were going and didn't care. My peers, despite being incredibly busy doing their own jobs, somehow found the time and never failed to provide the guidance I needed. The business with transitioning to new services, while simultaneously shifting to the expectations of a new ownership group, so the crushingly busy management team had to deal with even more.  When you could get their time -- they were my sales managers, so I needed it -- they were rude and condescending. They made snap judgements without care or context. When I struggled to get up to speed in this remote environment, I was labeled lazy. When I didn't know understand some Salesforce processes, despite telling them I'd never used it before during my interview, I was belittled and told I wasn't doing my job.  One manager even undermined a large sale when it looked like I couldn't get my sales numbers up. I asked for assistance on a contract, but he didn't give it. During a chance conversation with someone else, I learned that my manager had resolved the exact same problem with one of my peers, but expressed ignorance when I asked about it. They were done with me, and did not want me to succeed.

Pros

Good place to learn or start your career in tech. Can be 100% Remote. Uses "latest and greatest" tech. You can learn a lot. Good resources for certifications. Small 401k matching.

Cons

Pay is pretty low compared to industry. Expect a lot of work out of you. No stocks, profit sharing, bonuses etc for tech. Was told that 5 years ago they had a plan to go back to public in 4. When I joined the first news was that the company has been sold off again. You can tell people were upset they wasted 5 years hoping for a pay out.Told during my interview "We aren't like the big tech companies so don't expect that Google pay. This is not the place to make a lot of money." They weren't joking. A lot of HR people smiling too much about how great life is at the company.

Pros

The all-hands meetings were nice. Some great speakers and inspiring stories.

Cons

The most concerning was the attitude towards security. Management had, on multiple occasions, joked about how they liked tech debt (sarcastically) and dismissed suggestions to address CVEs. Everything from the initial interview to my eventual last day was bizarre. My manager at one point told me PRs weren't an appropriate place to make suggestions which is quite outlandish. I was expected to write code in a certain way with zero room for constructive criticism or new ideas. A rigid architecture is detrimental for the company's ability to evolve, try new things, and pay off tech debt. The opportunity cost of never improving was reason enough to leave the company shortly after I started.
