Pros

BearingPoint was great for getting diverse experience. I ended up on client engagements that tested my knowledge, challenged me every day and pushed my boundaries as a professional. I grew more in a year and a half with the company than I would have ever dreamed when I signed on.

Cons

The administrative side of BE was where the downsides were. I am still trying to sort out my final expenses almost three months after being let go, despite having sent in my completed documentation on a number of occasions. That, to me, is completely unacceptable.

Pros

The organization has tremendous spirit and espirit de corps among top performers. They set the bar high, then try to bring along all teammates in the spirit of team victory over business challenges. Even in their toughest trials, such as they experience now, they continue to deliver acclaimed customer service to customers with an eye to avoiding the panics associated with buy outs and cannibalization. They understand people are the key to the team, and they take especially good care of their teammates. I am consistently inspired by the open, honest talk and feedback, the focus on improvement, and the willingness of senior leaders within the company to listen to concerns from the field and act upon them for the good of the larger team. BearingPoint as a name may fade, but the tradition of excellence their people have come to be known for will shine brightly for their future customers and employers.

Cons

There is only one- the dissolution of the organization and cannibalization to other major professional service consulting firms means we all need to start over in a new organization. Uncertainty for what it will take to continue on the career path will most likely pass, but for now, that is the only unfortunate turn to date.
