Pros

BearingPoint has a great delivery culture and tradition. The people are bright and dedicated and truly interested in client success. It's a great place for campus recruits to come in and have their skills cultivated by some of the best and brightest.

Cons

BearingPoint is an operational disaster. There is a void in direction and focus. Where there is direction, it is the wrong direction - not a direction that would ever be recommended to clients. The current effort seems to focus solely on cost cutting and is narrow minded, short sighted and myopic. There is a desperate need for new leadership both in operations and in product/service development.

Pros

Range of exposure to various segments of an industry. The opportunities for fresh graduates to enter the world of work and understand the various players and forces in a industry and incredible. This could also be an excellent path to transition from a role of pure technologist or other back-office functions to a more client facing role; allowing for development of client interaction and management skills

Cons

Lack of stability and clarity on career planning, training and lack of appreciation for achievements. The employee morale has been sapped by repeated incidents of corrupt practices at the top including financial restatements and mis-guided decisions leading to large debt loads and low compensation/bonuses. Most of the senior managers are seen as incompetent gas bags who do Not deliver any value-add on projects.

Pros

BearingPoint is a great place to work if you want to coast. The work is not that challenging and there is great flexibility in work/life balance. It also seems that we have a great amount of vacation time which, we can carry 125% of into the next year. You also get paid unused vacation if you decide to leave the company.

Cons

Leadership is especially lacking in the junior ranks (i.e. manager, senior consultant level). BearingPoint touts their management training program with Yale, but in reality I have yet to see any significant changes from those who have attended. Development for the workforce is also lacking in specific functional areas...there seems to be a lot of useless online courses, but no specific developmental training for functional career tracks.
