Pros

1. Compensation at market rate (because its hard to retain talent otherwise) 2. Training opportunities in certain practices - specific functional training only 3. Great team members & some useful projects 4. Easy to break into big time consulting

Cons

1. Poor management 2. No chance of building any worthwhile equity in the firm (why would you want to anyway...) 3. No tuition reimbursement program 4. Poor 401K matching 5. Poor end of the year raises/ bonuses (if any)

Pros

BearingPoint is a good place for a new analyst or consultant to get a foot in the door. Take advantage of every opportunity to learn methodologies and project management.

Cons

BearingPoint does not have a consistent culture across its organization. Some Managing Director groups are far better than others. Public Sector has the most stability for projects and is the cash cow for the firm, but these projects tend to be "staff augmentation" rather than consulting. PS offers the lowest salaries in the firm - usually attributed to the negotiated rates with government agencies. BearingPoint does not have time tested methodologies that are consistently taught to all employees - this is very apparent next to Accenture or IBM. In the past it has been very difficult to move from one area of the firm to another - you might as well quit and get rehired.
