Pros

good team atmosphere. the mantra of "having fun while being the best" is a cool way to infuse corporate ideals with a youthful exuberance.

Cons

seasonal hirings! i started with the company in fall of 2001. Consistently a top seller and performer. Then when the holidays rolled around, they would hire in 16, 17 year old kids at high hourly rates that those of us who had been with the company for years or could only be seasonal because we spent most of the year away at college. just absolutely disgusting the way that management and company policy was used to castigated the long-term true-blue best buy employees.

Pros

employee discount was the best characteristic of this job. Ultimately the job atmosphere was good as well, many opportunities to make friends.

Cons

payscale was atrocious for living in NYC. I don't know how anyone could live on the salary that they provided at their establishment.
