Pros

flexible schedule, great discount benefits and vendor purchase programs, hourly pay/no commission, more about serving the customer than ramming products down their throat

Cons

no commission at all, big sales vs. small sales makes no difference in your pocket but will your in your performance review, favoritism is common

Pros

This is a very fun place to work. You make a lot of great friends and have a blast when you're there. Pay is better than a lot of other retail stores.

Cons

Getting promoted isn't very easy. While working there 22 months, I also saw 2 people get promoted. All other openings were either filled by transfers from other Best Buys or from outside companies. It's easier to come in as a manager than to get promoted to manager.

Pros

I get to keep up with all the latest technolgies.

Cons

The amount of pressure put on the sales associates to get the customer the "complete soulution" (get as many accessories and services and humanly possible) is very high. We have all the tactics of commision sales without the commision.
