Pros

It provides nice and clean environment. Friendly workers that makes you feel at home. Nevertheless, Best Buy offers great working experience and well training program. This allows many people like me , unexperienced to feel secure and knows the product better. As to my experience, not many places do well trainings. They simply just let you go free and learn from trial and error. Without a dobut, it is a tough way to learn because people tend to stretch out and nervous when they made a mistake. Aside from that, Best Buy does offer good employee discounts that is very valuable to staff.

Cons

The downsides include time schedule and punch clock system. The clock system is really strange because you must punch in 3minutes before and after the time. Otherwise it will not work. and during lunch the 30 minute rule is fairly strict. which is why a downside. In the meantime, time schedule tends to be not too flexible. Although I did say that best buy offers good training system, it is more of a introductory level. All the details are hard to know unless you ask to know. Workers tend to be young and not that responsible. These are the downsides for Best Buy

Pros

It truly was a fun place to work for a while. You have fun while helping consumers purchase items. The discount isn't so bad either. If you like car audio, that department has the biggest discount. You also can win items for having the most sales.

Cons

The top managers only care about the numbers, not as you an individual. My ops manager was fabulous, but the sales managers of certain departments (ex. computers, tvs) are really hard on employees to push sales to consumers and they even resort in stretching the truth just a bit, just to get a sale.

Pros

Great atmosphere. You work with great people, you will make a lot of friends working there. They have some good policies in place to show you that they appreciate the work you do for them. The general idea is great and they definitely have some good ideas. How they are executed is a different story.

Cons

Not very good advancement opportunities. If you do a good job or you try to do a good job, maybe eventually you will get recognized. Also be ready to be policed. Everything that you do will be evaluated, 0 latitude for errors or ingenuity. They want you to do something in one way and if you don't you will be talked to. Maybe they should hire robots to do the job exactly how they want it
