Pros

Perfect for a college student or someone looking for PT work. Great discount (although slowly getting worse), get paid to be immersed in technology, develop social skills that you can take with you elsewhere. You will usually get along with your co-workers and the scheduling is pretty flexible.

Cons

Don't waste too much of your life there though, even if you are serious about a career in retail management. Non-commissioned sales environment means that leadership will (almost always unfairly) manage you based on instinct and politics, rather than actual job performance. Trainings are not effective - you will be thrown to the wolves and have to learn from your peers.

Pros

One of the best reasons to work at best buy is the laid back atmosphere of the store. Usually the managers stay out of my department unless we have a huge MOD issue. Another reason would be the competitive pay rates that Best Buy offers.

Cons

A couple of down sides of Best Buy are: The managers have no competence when selling anything, they ALWAYS needs a sales associate to help them out. Favoritism is a huge part of best buy as well, if your not in with the managers good look on getting that promotion.
