Pros

Some nice coworkers. Being around tech was enjoyable.

Cons

Best Buy is the peak of corporate greed, paying employees in sales-dedicated positions peanuts with no commission, no incentives, and no real rewards. They push us to sell their Best Buy Protection plans, sometimes generating thousands of dollars in sales, and all we get is a phony pat on the back. It's an absolute joke. The so-called employee discount is awful only giving decent discounts on their in-store brands, which is laughable. If you’re expecting to get good deals on actual tech, forget it. Management is incompetent and fake. They ignore real issues and nitpick the smallest mistakes. You can do 95% of your job well, but they will fixate on the 5% you don’t. Some people tolerate this job because they’re students or completely oblivious to Best Buy’s disgusting business practices. Not only do they underpay employees, but they also have the audacity to ask for additional money to participate in work lunches and events. If you think you’ll be rewarded for hitting sales or protection plan goals, think again. Your “reward” is a tiny Halloween-sized chocolate bar not even a full-sized one. Seriously? And to make things worse, management constantly reminds us to sell protection plans. Why? Because they get a cut of those sales, while we get absolutely nothing. If you’re thinking about working at Best Buy DON’T. This company thrives on underpaying employees while profiting off their hard work. They want delusional workers with no self-respect who will blindly accept their nonsense. This was the fakest company I’ve ever worked for
