Pros

Top notch technology Good Benefit package Smooth process with HR Quick learning, and depending on role you could touch more or less areas of company Honesty and constant feedback Culture and people, all are very nice and collaborative :)

Cons

More than cons, is a work in progress I would say: Workload: Depending on your team and how fast you adapt, workload is normal and sometimes a bit high. Managers are quite open so this can be discussed w/o issues. Framework of working is still on development I would say, and definitively with possibilities of improving efficiency to relief workload

Pros

-The company is a huge success and in a very cool space - crypto

Cons

-top down culture that runs thru a few of mostly unqualified leaders that show very little care for the well being of those under them -around the clock work - calls/emails/slack message at very late hours after 11pm and on weekends - this is the norm. -extraordinary stressful with very little support form leadership. its a culture of blaming the staff and not helping them. -zero career advancement possibilities or training. all managers come from the outside.

Hello there, based on what you’ve shared, it sounds like your time with us wasn’t as positive as either of us would have liked, and for that we are sorry. We wanted to take the time to address some of your comments here. Our Pandas well-being is imperative and working around the clock is not what we promote at all. Boundaries must be respected and a healthy work-life balance implemented for everyone. Our Pandas are our most valued assets and Bitpanda wouldn’t be what it is without each and every one of you. We work in a scale-up environment and that means that things can move fast and change quickly but working overtime certainly isn’t the norm and should never come at the expense of our team-members' well-being. While we are scaling up and growing our business, leadership and communication are a point of attention. We are actively working on improving these areas by providing managers with training and improving our performance management processes. We do encourage self-steering in our work and we empower our Pandas to create their own path with guidance. Over the summer we conducted another round of our 360 feedback cycle and development conversations and this is the perfect opportunity for people to discuss their career goals directly with their manager. We are always open for having a respectful dialogue and would welcome any and all constructive feedback. If you’re up for it, please feel free to reach out to our HR team at peopleteam@bitpanda.com — we’re always here to chat! We wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors! Thanks, Chiara

Hey Panda! Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your journey with us. We're happy that 3 key benefits (of the many) and what you're finding great! Pandas love to learn, we got this feedback in our Peakon survey and have created Growth week, Day 1 is Universal Learning, Day 2 is Grow Your Career learnings, and Day 3 is all about your own personal studies for anything you like; of course followed by 2 additional days of time off before the weekend so you can process, relax and get ready to jump into the new week. With any kind of learning, there is always a ramp up period. We always try to hire from within and promote internally where it makes sense. Our Pandas get to and grow their careers with guidance from Managers, Senior Managers and Directors. As always with any additional feedback you'd like to pass to us, please contact your manager, your manager's manager or HRBP.

Pros

The people working there are really passionate about their job, but after a few months their passion is kicked down through C-level managers.

Cons

Mid June they said that they are not firing people and just 1 week later about 600 (37%) of all employees got fired.

Hi there — Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. At Bitpanda, we believe strongly in honesty and transparency, and we want to ensure that this is an equitable workplace for all. That’s why we think that it’s essential that all our folks are empowered to speak freely using Radical Candor to share informed opinions in an open, respectful way. We also know that being at Bitpanda means that this isn’t your typical corporate 9-to-5 and that our Pandas go above and beyond to keep raising the bar. This is why the recent news especially hurt, as it means that we’ve had to let go of some of the best out there. But, because we strongly believe in having a fully open, honest and transparent environment and are committed to doing things the right way, not the easy way, we wanted to ensure that this tough news was delivered as transparently as possible. However, regrettably, due to legal restrictions, we couldn’t communicate it in the most personal way that we would have liked to. As we watched the world events and market conditions intently, hopeful for a turnaround, unfortunately, we had to be realistic and reassess our strategy. Therefore, we made this difficult decision to ensure that we are fully weather-proofed to navigate the current storm in the market and get out of it financially healthy to continue our mission. We understand that times like these can make the future look uncertain. However, we want to assure you that these one-time-only measures will not affect the growth opportunities we have always given our Pandas. We are fully committed to ensuring that being here remains the best investment in yourself and that Bitpanda is an equitable workplace for all. After all, we know that the growth of our talented folks on the Bitpanda bus will mean we’ll be ahead of the curve to provide new products and services and help make investing accessible to everyone.

Great Team, Poor Management

Pros

They really do a rigorous hiring process which ensures only hard working and mostly very kind people. I got along with almost everyone and had great team work and results

Cons

I was managing my manager most of the time, he was very unorganised and sucking up to his manager. Beware of which management you get because it’s a hit or miss. Sometimes management is amazing and very supportive! But get ready to be quite independent and learn fast (>1 week).

Pros

- Leaders who do everything they can to help you. - Cool projects - You can work on what interests you in the crypto space

Cons

- Some politics in other departments - Sometimes it takes a while to get responses from other departments as a low level employee (but your managers are always willing to step in immediately if you so need)

Not a place to be

Pros

- International teams, - Office looks good, - They have started to listen to senior devs that are trying to push the wheel in the right direction, - Work from anywhere, vacations, "week breaks". But, I'd say they're offering this many benefits because they cannot keep devs at bitpanda or because employees are just stressed. - One thing that I really like is that you might be able to work like 6 hours a day (with a reduction of salary), - It might be good to work here to put into your CV and to learn some technologies for a starting dev, - To learn what a growing start up can be. - Free coffee so you can work during the nights.

Cons

- Very unorganized and forced hyper growth. - Experienced and old employees are leaving the company constantly. As a result many people are new and/or nobody knows what should be done and/or are so overwhelmed that they cannot think on what's really important to keep the "molecular structure" of the company. - Awful on-boarding, many new comers are quite pissed off. - Inter-team communication is very hard as everyone is on an urgency. - Manager responsibilities somehow end up in the "leaves". - Bad planning of new features. Devs, QAs and POs are paying for all the bad management decisions. - Urgent priority changes over urgent existing priorities with very strange dead lines. I've seen testers, POs and PMs working non stop for months, even during the nights. - Salaries cannot keep up with other companies and the work-life balance is quite bad. - Overtime is not considered in your salary. HR will say that you can work less on a Friday if you work more during weekends, but, that is hard to achieve. - HR keeps talking about career paths but seems impossible with all the chaos. - Engineering managers don't seem to have the power of decision or expertise to really change anything.

Hi (former) Panda, We really appreciate you taking the time to leave your thoughts about how you found life at Bitpanda. As a high-impact and fast-paced company in a highly competitive industry, in order to grow, we have to work hard to always be thinking big and moving fast! While this can bring about fast changes, we always make sure that they are done for the right reasons and have a positive impact. So while working at Bitpanda will often mean having to go beyond the typical corporate 9-to-5, we ask all current and potential Pandas to keep this in mind to ensure it's the right fit for them. However, we're incredibly proud of the amazing talent that we are not only able to attract to our den but also retain. Part of our ability to do this is not just the incredible personal growth opportunities we offer but also our revolutionary "flexibility-first" approach that allows every one of our Pandas to personalise the way they work to have the optimum work-life balance. Of course, as a company, we know there's always room for improvement. That's why we've recently kicked off our Bitpanda Employee Voice survey to ensure everyone here has the ability to speak up, talk straight and help us grow stronger and tackle any areas of weakness. Thanks for all your effort during your time in our den. We hope we've managed to address the points you've raised here, and we wish you nothing but success in your next adventures!

Pros

Modern Tech Stack: Engineers and product teams get to work with current tools and frameworks, which is a plus for technical growth. Diverse, Talented Colleagues: Despite the internal challenges, Bitpanda has managed to attract skilled individuals. Peer learning is one of the few bright spots.

Cons

As a an employee at Bitpanda, my experience has been a mix of initial enthusiasm followed by growing frustration. While the company markets itself as an innovative fintech leader, internally it struggles with several deep-rooted issues that directly affect employee well-being and long-term retention. Uncompetitive Salary: The compensation is significantly below market average, especially for the demanding nature of the work and the high expectations placed on employees. Raises and promotions are infrequent and lack transparency. Micromanagement Culture: Trust in employee autonomy is minimal. Managers often interfere with day-to-day tasks, leading to a sense of suffocation and lack of creative freedom. Constantly Changing Rules: Policies, processes, and even team structures change abruptly without proper communication or justification. This lack of consistency creates confusion, stress, and inefficiency. Unrealistic Deadlines: Tight timelines are the norm rather than the exception. The pressure to deliver fast often overrides quality, and there’s little regard for employee burnout. Low Morale and Motivation: Due to the reasons above, team spirit is low. Many employees operate in survival mode rather than feeling inspired or driven to contribute meaningfully.

Pros

Offices - hybrid work style Top notch IT equipment Dynamic industry with lots to learn every day Great coworkers, very helpful Senior Managers / Managers are directly involved in the day to day

Cons

The offer that I accepted was slightly adjusted before the official start date. While this had no impact on the salary, it had a big impact on the other side of the benefits package. I understand the need for the changes, just that the timing might not have been the greatest.
