Highly valued as an individual good compensation good perks (pantry, museum tickets, etc)

Cons

Long hours (expected in the industry) Work is reasonably siloed, teams in engineering departments have trust issues From a tech perspective so much is bespoke and internal that you don't get to use much industry wide tech Less of a self start mindset (more of a prioritize all the way up the command chain before allocating resources)

-Good work life balance -Generally pretty flexible on scope of projects -Nice perks in office

Cons

-Flat orgs sound cool, but in reality it just means way more disorganization because there are not enough middle managers/team leads to disseminate information clearly-- meaning it's not a surprise to see duplicate work -Very little upward mobility, had colleagues who stayed in same role 3+ years -Business side and engineering side not aligned, and business side managers care more about hitting short-term quarterly goals, which means patchy development and the tech stack being messy
