Pros

- Pretty much every financial company is a client; - Excellent technological understanding within the firm; - Pays a very good fixed salary and overall a good compensation, mostly because it takes time to train personnel on the terminal and therefore the cost of replacement is very high; - Job security: I have seen many bottom performers stay on the same jobs for years; people who leave do so because of the frustration of seeing others grow while they stay flat, there are almost no performance-based redundancies;

Cons

- Very political, Bloomberg has very clearly chosen to support one American party, and follows all of its guidelines; very difficult to progress in the organisation if you don't tick the right boxes, regardless of merit; - Micromanagement: especially for non-sales jobs there is a big focus on process as opposed to result, partially because they struggle to find KPIs; - Little financial understanding within the firm; - There are still many people who have been at Bloomberg for 10-20 years and manage small teams; again, difficult to progress; - The company is trying to get everyone back in the office 5/5.
