Pros

-Bloomberg will help you fulfill any reasonable career goals/transitions you may want. Just pray your team is flexible. -People avoid drama -Access to terminal is useful

Cons

-It is better not to go above and beyond here . Managers take that and squeeze even more without treating you any better -by avoiding drama people sweep problems under the rug, but managers keep making staff touch the rug so at least leave the whole thing alone! -management thinks for short-term and doesn't think of what's sustainable for team -staff with serious personality issues are being supported because they're chummy with the right people. they get invited for coffee while capable people just get handed more work with no recognition.

Pros

Benefits are good and pantry

Cons

Pay doesn’t keep up with other tech companies. Also, they got really lame once they started tracking “badge-ins.” For a “progressive” company they sure are anchored to the old ways of working. In office culture is crap and it won’t surprise me if management uses your in-office days for end of year reviews. Used to be fun but now they’ve gotten weird.

Pros

Snacks, kudos of working there and the range of work is interesting.

Cons

Performance reviews are not transparent and yours will depend entirely on if your manager a) likes you and b) has a relatively normal and healthy sense of a work-life balance. Progression options are limited with mobility really difficult (people sit in the exact same jobs for 15+ years for a reason) and if your manager gives you a poor review simply because they don't like you then you'll be blocked from applying for other internal jobs for 18 months at a time. Similarly, completely unsuitable people are promoted to senior positions simply because the Chief Content Officer favours them (not because they're actually qualified) while others are overlooked and get trapped in the same jobs for decades, becoming unemployable elsewhere because they haven't progressed. Hours are also long, inflexible and you'll have very little control over your finish times and will frequently be expected to work evenings and weekends.
