Pros

- Free snacks/breakfast/fruits/drinks - Decent pay

Cons

- Close-minded senior management, very set in their ways - Taking risks is discouraged even though they may pretend otherwise, thus stifling any attempt at innovation. You can still try to be innovative, but if you fail, you're on your own. - Fighting fires all the time - Medium to high stress work environment - Truly horrific legacy code - Hack/patch attitude towards fixing things in the name of "time to market". Makes sense in some cases, but not every time.

Pros

Decent compensation. Many interesting perks like free admission to museums, annual picnic. The company culture is on the lay-back side as a financial company. This should be an ideal "last job" of anyone.

Cons

The technology used in Bloomberg is pretty boring. In my group we use a little bit of everything, and the problems we work on are usually pretty shallow from a technology point of view.
