      No Raises in Media Department

      Pros

      - Great benefits - Free food and drinks in the pantry - 20 vacation days at start of year - Yearly Picnic event at Randall's island - Fun people to work with

      Cons

      The media department gives 0% raises regardless of how hard you work. They claim it is a department limitation based on the funds they receive. Raises are not guaranteed regardless of how well the company does. The person that does the bare minimum to keep their job is compensated the same as the go getter. Work for any department in Bloomberg other than Media if you want to be compensated for your hard work.

      Pros

      Good place for your first job or your last job.

      Cons

      no flexibility. No room for growth. Once they put you in a role, you're expected to teach yourself everything. Very standardized performance. Guy who sits next to me doesn't even work, yet makes much more than me since he's been at the company longer. No fairness in compensation based on merit.
