Pros

Perks, benefits, salary are competitive. No titles, everyone really can contribute if they're willing to fight for it. Often you can learn new technologies. Plenty of friendly people to have lunch with. Management doesn't really seem to care too much about system outages so that makes for a more relaxed work environment (half sarcastic).

Cons

Constantly having my desk/office moved, forced "upgrades" or work environment changes. Not a lot of personal space or even toilets for that matter. Extremely crowded office despite how fancy and pleasant it is to look at. A lot of distractions and in my opinion the quality of work across the company suffers because of it. Employee retention is not that great, and it's also hard to hire talent here anymore as they mostly go to FAANG or startups. A lot of office politics, and no clear vision or culture for the company. Incompetent managers get off easy and some of the worst ones are allowed to remain for years even after they've driven away many good engineers. Sometimes it feels very competitive, especially between different teams who are often working on similar things and for no good reason other than politics or mismanagement. I rarely understand what my true job function is and why. Due to poor management choices and internal corruption, the company honestly hasn't grown its business significantly in a decade and has become decreasingly profitable and efficient in that time frame. Luckily Mr. Bloomberg doesn't usually punish low level employees for this as is so common in public companies.
