Benefits are designed with the consultants in mind, not necessarily the support staff.

- Strong meritocracy and upward mobility - Culture of learning and mentoring culture - Focus on teaming/collaboration - Accessibility of the firm's best people - you can speak with whomever in the firm and people bend over backwards to help each other out at all levels - Global experiences more accessible and available to all employees - Support for full-time MBA programs

Cons

- Work/life balance can be tough without a doubt given the working hours, pressures, and travel - firm has gotten a better handle on this over time w/ PTO initiative - Firm's rapid growth has outpaced competition, but also put aggressive bogeys on Partners (which in turn made pressures and workload higher for everyone) and made retaining the smaller firm culture a challenge

- Transparent and objective evaluation system - Great team work and dynamic - Many opportunities to try different industries, functions, and location of work (i.e. opportunity to get permanent or temporary transfer to other BCG offices)

Cons

- Work-life balance is not so good - Up-or-out system which makes this job less secure, especially for people with family
