Pros

Exposure to fantastic people as co-workers and clients. Ability to impact organizations at the highest levels while learning valuable skills that will carry you in the rest of your career.

Cons

High cost to your personal life and there is no balance. Ostensibly objective review process is fraught with subjective rigging.

Pros

- Good environment to learn: your colleagues and superiors will take the time to discuss and teach the basics of the business you are analyzing - Fats paced, challenging environment: assignments are changed every 2-4 months, and they are often in an industry / function you have never studied before. So, if you want to leanr a lot very quickly this is a good place to be

Cons

- Very poor work/life balance: this is the biggest gripe with consulting: 70-hour weeks are considered acceptable and weekends in the office are not rare, and people will only start to worry after your team is past the 90-hour barrier. So, if having an active social life or doing many things besides working are a priority you'd better not come into consulting.

Pros

1. Unbelievable experience advising companies on the most important strategic issues 2. Incredibly smart and motivated colleagues who continually challenge you intellectually 3. Fun and personable culture, hard working but not cut throat 4. Focus on creativity and finding new answers to client problems that will truly drive impact 5. Personally, I think the Philadelphia office (and partners) are amazing

Cons

1. As with any consulting firm, hours and travel can be hard some weeks. Especially Monday through Thursday your life is pretty work focused 2. For certain projects, it can seem like you undertake endless iterations on the same client materials 3. Some clients are not as nice as others
