Pros

Nice head office with a river running through it, Starbucks, Waitrose, gym. Opportunity to but discounted tickets in Business Class, and cheap hotels. After 5 years you get "free tickets"just pay the tax so under £1000 to Sydney in Club World. However staff travel tickets are standby so you may find yourself in business class or on a jump seat or offloaded waiting for the next flight.

Cons

BA is Incredibly bureaucratic and a very political organisation. Overall people feel very unclear responsibilities. Every 2-3 years there is a corporate wide re-organisation where people have to re-apply for their jobs. As an IBM I manage over 100 cabin crew and earn just £28k. The longer serving senior onboard cabin crew (CSD) can earn up to £60k with their allowances because they are in a very strong union (BASSA). BA complete colleague surveys every year but only publish the good news. e.g. during the cabin crew strike the survey results were kept secret. There is a real problem with management bullying, but BA have a team of internal bullying and harassment advisors to help to reduce this.

Pros

Great people with a friendly atmosphere. The work is consistently interesting and you're encouraged to develop and express your own ideas. A lot of the systems and algorithms are developed in house which gives you a lot of ability to change things, provided you're prepared for a challenge! Good work life balance and fantastic travel benefits, the office is a nice working environment too.

Cons

There isn't a huge amount of accountability and so things can tend to drag on as no-one's got a big incentive to push things. Also no-one ever seems to get fired, which though unpleasant is sadly necessary sometimes. Also the pay isn't great, but this is offset by the staff travel benefits and work/life balance.
