      Brocade was a great place to work pre-acquisition.

      The acquisition really ruined a good company.

      Pros

      Competitive compensation which included a very good bonus program. Generous PTO system which was adjusted a bit down over time. Large enough company to be stable, yet small enough that you still feel like you can make a real impact there.

      Cons

      Groups act in a somewhat silo fashion. Foundry acquisition proved to not pay off as the business had hoped. Can be a bit ruthless of a place to work. It takes a strong willed person to thrive in this environment. Base pay a bit below market, made up somewhat by the generous incentives.

      Pros

      Great technology. They allow time off for working for a charity.

      Cons

      This company has been poorly managed. They bought an IP networking company, (Foundry Networks) for about the same price as the market cap of this company. It turned out to be a big drain on the company.
