      Pros

      CERN is a great place to work. I feel very lucky to have this experience of being in such a diverse and exciting environment. I work with an exceptionally friendly and lovely team of people. I have had nothing but positive experiences since starting work here. Excellent work colleagues, excellent working conditions and benefits. I would encourage people to apply. Outside of work there are lots of clubs (run by CERN) that we can join with something for just about everyone from skiing to sailing to dancing.

      Cons

      I haven't come across any cons so far. I can only repeat what an amazing experience this is for me.

      longer-term career unlikely due to many limited contracts

Limited duration contracts such as student and graduate contracts serve CERN's educational mission to it's Member states. At the same time and after a recently reviewed contract policy we work towards increasing long term career prospects for staff.

      Pros

      A lot of privileges, friendly atmosphere, a lot of freedom at work, great salary, no taxes, 30 days of annual leave, and this is CERN!

      Cons

      Work really depends on the supervisor and the project. There is a huge rotation of people and the deadlines are more often recommendations that actual deadlines. Atmophere is friendly, but not really stimulating, though it depends on the section and supervisor.
