Pros

I have been freelance content contributor with Canva (predominately with the Design School team) for 1.5 years. Truthfully, I can't sing enough praise for my experience in that time. - Canva has given me a foot in the door to my career in so many ways, giving my content an amazing platform to be shown on and unlocking so many doors. - I have been given so many opportunities to extend my portfolio and range of skills, even as a remote freelancer. I have never felt bored or tired with the content/work assigned to me and I am proud of the content I have helped produce in my time at Canva. - I feel I have learned (and continue to learn) an incredible amount through Canva, and again, as a remote freelancer I didn't expect that at all. I have developed valuable skills and knowledge over my time. - I have never felt undervalued as a freelancer, I have always been made to feel like a part of the team. - The people I have worked with all seem honestly dedicated and excited about growing Canva as a platform, and that excitement is contagious and very motivating. - I have never had an interaction with any staff member at Canva that even approached unpleasant. Communications have always been professional, prompt, and very friendly. Canva is very much a 'what you see is what you get' company in many regards – they present themselves as a passionate and driven community because that's truthfully what they are.

Cons

- Freelance briefs can sometimes be a little vague, but nothing that a quick email doesn't solve.

Pros

Perks are awesome (lunch, gym allowance, we are doing a full company retreat), but they are more or less in line with what other tech companies offer. It is management's devotion to their employees and customers that sets Canva apart, working along side this passion keeps your priorities straight, your work delivers value and, as the result, it's a pleasure to work here.

Cons

It's not a place for people with 9 to 5 mentality, if you want to come in to work, be productive for a bit but generally not care, this is not a place for you.

Pros

There's a lot of nice perks at Canva. Breakfast and lunch are prepared by chef's on site, the whole team eats together, there's different fitness activities available and very strong social cohesion in the group. The people are probably the best part! Everyone is positive and friendly and passionate about their craft. The team feels like a family. Ideas trump egos, because at the end of the day everyone wants what's best for the product. There's a strong sense of egalitarianism in the culture, there's no managers and everyone treats each other as equals. They also provide equity, which means at the end of the day that everyone takes ownership of the company and feels motivated. It's a pretty amazing culture. It's also growing at such a pace that the future opportunities are enormous.

Cons

The freezer full of tim tam's is a great, yet dangerous perk. Speaking from experience, it might take a lot of self discipline for a sweet tooth to tame their cravings...
