Pros

Good Enterprise technical architecture training provided on Integrated Architectural Framework. Capgemini contribute to the opengroup TOGAF. Some good individuals however rare to work with them.

Cons

Discrimination towards diversity. Internal political networks favouring friends rather than more qualified and higher perfoming people. Better to be healthy all the time or suffer the consequences, no respect for medical conditions. Scruffy and dirty work places, that inspire depression rather than excite and motivate. At Capgemini is impossible to move on with your career if you are not an old friend of someone. No matter how good you are or how well you do with Capgemini's customers. Bad language, sarcasm and mobbing are standard behaviours, condoned by the network of old friends. Hard to find any example to follow.

Pros

The best reason to work here that I can find is the people. As with most places there is a good mixture of people from all backgrounds and abilities. Alot of the them are very friendly and of course you get ehe odd one or two who aren't so friendly. The work life balance is very good too. Alot of the managers realise the importance of having a good home life and try not to let work impact too much upon it; they won't ask you to do overtime unless it is abhsolutely critical.

Cons

The payrise and promotion proceedure. 364 days of good solid hard grafting can be cancelled out by 1 bad day at the office. Sometime the management do not realise that they're employees are humans and will make mistakes. Employee reviews can be based on the team pleaders expectations without taking into account the employees abilities which results in a negative review. The payscales are incredibly abismal too. Three years on the same wage without any payrise to account for inflation or good work.

Pros

If you have a good network, is like working for a startup and you get a lot of flexibility. The company is basically lacking direction and its run locally by people that do not care for global results. This gives people a lot of leaway for getting away with stuff that you may not get away in other large consulting firms. Having said that, expect to deal with a lot of administrative challenges (expensing stuff is a mess!) and not the best kinds of engagements, but definitely a good place to be while you look out for something better. :)

Cons

If you don't work for technology delivery, you're screwed. No one gives a crap about other business units, especially those in the Management / Strategy Consulting fields. The recent merger with Kanbay was an absolute mess, with so many HR issues that I can't begin to describe. They cut benefits, changed the way people got promoted and a lot of other stuff that made 2007 an incredibly messy year. I know a lot of people just gave up and left just because of the poor way they managed this merger. For a company that considers itself an expert in the "change management" field, this was incredibly bad executed.
