Pros

Great benefits and good compensation. Severance packages are generous, which is good since they layoff 8-15% every 6 month performance cycle.

Cons

Stack rankings are creating an extremely negative work environment. If you loved middle drama, Capital One is a great work place, but if you struggle with any mental health related issues, steer clear. Orgs are hiring to fire so I can protect their existing employees. Everyone is so stressed knowing another 10% are going under the bus at year end. Being a veteran, my mental health has really taken a bad turn while working here. Always looking for reasons to tear you down.

Great place to work

Pros

Good people, good benefits, interesting work

Cons

Promotions are political -- depend on if you have managers who advocate for you, a lot of the work is very administrative given it's a big company

Pros

Benefits are competitive, work life balance is great, hours are flexible, in office experience is great considering the amenities and relative commute, and hybrid work from home (MF at home, TWR in office).

Cons

Return to work has ruffled some feathers but is still providing a ton of flexibility for workers. Progressing through the ranks at Cap One can be difficult for many.
