Pros

The door is wide open for women at Capital One. The hours are great. During the week the branch closes at 4pm, so a late night is 5pm and you can't take the work home with you. Also no uniforms.

Cons

The technology is fairly old and not very well streamlined, there's a different system for everything. Very few spanish/english bilinguals, it's not a priority. The branches are understaffed so time off for sickness and emergencies is tough. Incentives are not generous.

Pros

Great work life balance, smart people, pretty casual and fun culture for a big bank, nice perks and benefits.

Cons

It's getting too big to the point where it is difficult to grow and develop new skills. Everybody tends to think the same way so there's little diversity. Company is reacting to a bunch of regulatory change. Many layers between you and executives, lots of process and red tape. Things move slowly.

Pros

You can publicly look for other roles within the organization Great benefits (onsite gym @ $15/mos, nurses office, subsidized meals, car wash, 401k) Decent bonus (~25% of salary at sr. mgr title)

Cons

Politics within teams are hefty and memories are long. Average tenure in some teams exceeds 10 years
